If you are a beginner blogger, you probably don’t get many emails, if any at all, asking you to promote content.

In today’s post, I will tell you how to get sponsored blog posts, as a beginner blogger.

First, you’ll need something that is known as a media kit. You can download your free media kit below.

What is a media kit? It’s a summary of your blog’s missions, goals, and statistics.

A media kit includes:

  • An introduction to yourself and a picture: This can be brief. Tell the company who you are and add a professional picture.
  • Your mission/goals for your blog: What do you want to achieve with your blog? What do you blog about? What is your niche? Is there any particular post that you do weekly to draw your audience to your blog?
  • Your audience: Who are they? How old are they? From where are they? You can obtain this information from WordPress stats or Google analytics.
  • Testimonials ( See this post on how to get testimonials)
  • Blog post rates (See this post on how to charge for blog posts)
  • Your statistics: What are your WordPress stats? What are your unique visitors per month, page views per month, and email list? This information you’ll find on your WordPress stats or Google analytics.
  • What are the analytics for your social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc?
  • NOTE: If you fear that your stats are a bit low on one of your accounts then don’t mention it. A media kit is a cv of your blog and you want to showcase your best self.
  • Contact info: Include your name, number, blog address, email, and social media.

As a beginner blogger, all of these points should be fairly easy to summarize, the only two that may discourage you are your statistics and testimonials.

If you are just starting, your numbers will not be so impressive. Everyone starts from somewhere. Do not let this discourage you.

I have created a professional media kit template for you. You can change the color. Download it and add your information to it.

Download the pdf here. Pink Blogger Media Kit

Download the word doc here. MEDIA KIT TEMP

Congrats, you have your media kit.

Now that you have completed your media kit, the fun begins.

There are magical places where bloggers and advertisers live happily ever after. It is called a blogger affiliate program.

You sign up for one of the services for free and upload your media kit.

These companies will ask you to select what type of brands you are interested in working with, what type of products you would like to review, how much you charge per blog post, etc.

Once you’ve created your profile, companies browse it and will let you know when they are interested.

Here are some companies you can sign up to:

IZEA

TAPINFLUENCE

Commission Junction

This was super helpful! I already have a media kit but it took me a while to understand how to make so this post will be so useful to beginner bloggers! Also, I actually haven’t signed up for any affiliate programs are these ones just for UK or all around the world?

I tried to put links for everyone around the world, so you’ll find good ones 🙂 I know right, the media kit design can be a drag that’s why I created them just for download. I also think it will be helpful to beginner bloggers. And Thanks!

I have been blogging since March 2016 and in the last 6 months I have started doing sponsored blog post for companies like Jack Wills and Panasonic. I think sponsored blog posts only start happening once you gain a certain amount of people in your audience, because after all the more viewers you have the more they will pay.
    Great post my lovely!

Hey Emily! I got my first sponsored post after 3 months in 2014. I wrote a blog post about it. It’s all about your contact with the audience even if It’s a small audience at first. I find that brands want to see interaction and how their links turn into leads. I agree. And Thanks! Will check your blog out now and give you a follow 💕🤗

Hi Chantal. I wanted to know if you’ve tried Affiliate marketing for your blog yet? It is one part I find interesting about blog monetizing. I have been searching and found that there’s a bit of difficulty signing up for the Amazon affiliate program from South Africa, what are your thoughts on this? What experience do you have with it? 😊

Hey!! So weird that you ask that since I’m busy writing a post about that. It’s a lot to write in the comment but I’ll upload the post soon. Xx

Hey! So, I’ve written the post and I think I answered most of the questions but one question I couldn’t work into the post was one the one about South Africa. So I’m writing it here 🙂 I had an amazon affiliate account, i signed up quite easily. But I didn’t make too much money with it. Cuz our people shop more on mr price online then amazon. Is there something in particular that you struggle with, with the sign up process with amazon? My adsense money was sent via post to my house in the form of a check. Now I’m in the Netherlands and I changed my details this year so I dont know if anything else changed. I hope this helps 🙂
